Have you ever looked at your life and realized that if you didn't make a drastic change, you might lose yourself entirely?

For over 21 years, I dedicated my loyalty to a secure corporate banking job. But behind the scenes, my "ordinary world" had become a deeply negative and toxic environment. It was making me sick—so sick that I had to take a six-week medical leave just to battle my anxiety and depression.

At 57 years old, I had an awakening. I asked myself: Do I want to spend the next ten years of my life surviving in this toxic environment? My answer was a resounding NO. I knew deep in my heart that if I didn't change my situation, I wasn't going to be around for my children. That was my call to adventure. This is the story of how I transformed my life, and how I want to help you transform yours.

Leaving the Familiar Behind

Stepping away from a "secure" corporate job is terrifying. At first, my own mind was my biggest enemy, whispering, "You are not good enough." I wondered if I was truly capable of chasing my dreams.

I started small. I launched a side hustle on nights and weekends. Soon after, an incredible opportunity presented itself: a 26-week online course with the Columbia Coaching Institute. Despite my fears, I signed up, passed my exams, and took my first steps toward becoming a Certified Executive Business Coach.

The Transformation: Finding Faith and Changing the Narrative

Changing your life isn't a one-time event; it is a profound, ongoing journey. My true transformation happened in two pivotal stages:

1. Reconnecting with my Faith: Attending The Emmaus Retreat for women allowed me to rediscover my Catholic faith. After the passing of my father—who was my hero and biggest supporter—I found unconditional love in God during this retreat. I realized I was never abandoned during my struggles; He was beside me, providing for my family just as I had prayed. The "old Jackie" was gone, and a new one was emerging.
2. Rewiring my Mindset: Attending The Landmark Forum in Fort Lauderdale helped me let go of the limiting stories I had created in my head. I learned to meditate, embraced positive thinking, and stepped into my true authenticity.

Returning to the "ordinary world" as a changed woman wasn't easy. Many of my friends and family—who had seen me depressed for over three years—didn't quite understand the "new Jackie." They saw the happier version of me, the nice makeup, and the new energy, but the change was hard for them to grasp. And that's okay. I am happy to keep sharing my light until they are ready to take their own journey of transformation.

My Reward: Helping You Build Your Legacy

Today, I am a woman who believes in her faith, knows her worth, and refuses to let anyone else define her value. I am balanced, centered, and passionate about empowering others. I have a fire inside of me, and I want to share it with the world.

That fire is the foundation of Boricua Legacy Publishing.

My mission—my why—is to be a light for people who are searching for their passion and purpose. I want to be the "Latina Tony Robbins," guiding women to realize that their future is full of possibilities.
